Scottish Minister for employability and training formally presents solutions driven investors in people platinum accreditation

Solutions driven awarded highest people management awards, securing investors in people platinum (IIP) and investors in young people gold (IIYP)

Solutions Driven has been awarded Investors in People Platinum accreditation and Investors in Young People Gold accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to high performance through excellent people management.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results.

Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry.

Introduced in 2015, Platinum is the highest level of accreditation available and recognises truly outperforming organisations. Only 24 organisations in Scotland currently hold IIP Platinum accreditation.

Investors in Young People recognises and supports organisations in the employment of young people. The award represents Solutions Driven’s true commitment to the training and development of their young workforce and positions the organisation as an employer of choice for young people.

Peter Russian, Chief Executive, Remarkable, the home for Investors in People in Scotland and Investors in Young People, said;

“Congratulations to Solutions Driven on achieving Investors in People Platinum and Investors in Young People Gold.

“To achieve one of these awards is an achievement in its own right, never mind both at the highest level.

“Solutions Driven’s double achievement is testament to the commitment they have to their people and to their customers, and should be both an inspiration and a challenge to other organisations in the area”.

Scottish Minister for Employability and Training, Jamie Hepburn, joined the team to present the award to the Chairman and CEO of Solutions Driven.

Jamie said of the achievement;

“I want to ensure all Scotland’s workforce, and particularly our young workforce, are properly supported to succeed in the workplace so they can build satisfying and sustainable careers.

“I warmly congratulate Solutions Driven for their achievement of the Investors in People Platinum, and Investors in Young People Gold accreditations.

“These awards are key benchmarks, and I hope to see more organisations working towards accreditation in the future‎.”

Following his career as Senior Operations Executive with a number of hi-tech US multinational manufacturing firms, Solutions Driven Founder Walter Speirs identified a gap in the international market for a recruitment consultancy which offered the very highest service levels.

Walter recognised that the key to delivering such high standards was the people around him. Joined by his son in 2002, Walter remains with the business as Chairman, and his son Gavin has continued to drive the business forward in his role as CEO. Solutions Driven is now celebrating 20 years of successful trading across the globe.

CEO Gavin Speirs said of the awards;

“This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Solutions Driven; I am extremely proud of the team. Securing the highest accolade for IIP is an honour in itself, but to be awarded the highest accreditation for IIYP at the same time really is great recognition of the commitment and investment we make in our people. 2018 is set to be another record year for the team at Solutions Driven.”
