Amazon is well known for its use of innovative and futuristic technology, it’s robot workers and drone deliveries being just two examples. With the introduction of the wristband, silent pulses will be picked by ‘ultrasonic transducers’, used to monitor performance.
The patent, filed in September, divulges designs for ultrasonic wristbands that could be used to monitor workers’ performance.
The patent describes ‘ultrasonic tracking of a worker’s hands’ that would be used to ‘monitor performance of assigned tasks.’
It states: ‘The ultrasonic unit is configured to be worn by a user in proximity to the user’s hand and to periodically emit ultrasonic sound pules.’
Silent pulses would then be picked by ‘ultrasonic transducers’ placed around the warehouse.
The patent adds: ‘The management module monitors performance of an assigned task.’
The patent was filed by Amazon on the United States Patent Office at the end of last month.
It describes ‘ultrasonic tracking of a worker’s hands’ that would be used to ‘monitor performance of assigned tasks.’
Diagrams show how workers will wear bracelets on either hand, which contain ‘ultrasonic units.’
The patent states: ‘The ultrasonic unit is configured to be worn by a user in proximity to the user’s hand and to periodically emit ultrasonic sound pulses.’
These silent pulses would then be picked by ‘ultrasonic transducers’ placed around the warehouse.
