Whilst many of its main clients are government departments and institutions, including HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions,, National Crime Agency, and 28 of the UK’s 43 police forces, the firm is also experiencing increasing demand from private sector customers to investigate fraud, intellectual property theft and cyber bullying.

Over the past five years, CCL has also diversified into cyber security and IT governance. The new jobs being created will increase the company’s headcount to around 150 by the middle of 2015.

CCL managing director, Andrew Krauze, said: “Our business has enjoyed rapid growth in recent years because of a change in market conditions and demand for particular types of forensic investigations.

“With everyone now using mobile devices, the need for digital forensics has dramatically increased and this has resulted in our need to expand.”

CCL obtained funding for its expansion from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

A spokesman for the bank said: “CCL Group is a fantastic example of a business which has expanded its capabilities to cater for a rapidly evolving market and highly sophisticated clients.

“The group is now a leading player in the digital forensics field and we are confident that, with the investment in personnel and facilities, CCL will improve its business capabilities even further.”
