John Lewis receives more than 3,600 job applications for new Leeds store

As part of a recruitment drive at its new Leeds store, John Lewis has received more than 3,600 job applications from potential employees

The 225,000sq site will be the retailer’s third shop to open in Yorkshire and is to be a major part of the Victoria Gate development.  The recruitment drive is focussed on both full-time and part-time partners and co-owners.

This particular drive is part of an agreement between Leeds City Council and Victoria Gate’s Hammerson to sign an Employment and Skills Charter which aims to support Leeds residents in accessing new employment opportunities.

Head of Branch at John Lewis Leeds, James Prince, said: “We’ve had such an incredible response to the recruitment drive so far, which gives me confidence that we will have an exceptional team of partners in John Lewis Leeds.

“This drive has been one of the most popular recruitment campaigns I’ve seen and I’m encouraged by the response from the local community and surrounding areas.”
