Entry level HR jobs will disappear & recruitment roles will become more specialised, says James Foo

Head group HR of ABR Holdings, James Foo, affirms that HR automation software will take over some job functions in the future

HR automation software will take over relatively routine functions such as benefits administration, leave modules and payroll. These activities tend to be time-consuming and once automated, employee self-service online will free HR staff to properly focus on their strategic roles, although in-house HR is expected to downsize.

Foo also foresees that benefits and wellness claims, recruitment, learning and development and compensation will also be outsourced. These roles can be undertaken by HR specialist companies or consolidated to the company’s shared services. In addition, he also feels that entry level HR jobs will altogether disappear with roles becoming more specialised.
