On 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force. The GDPR will make massive changes to UK data protection laws. The question on everyone lips is how will this effect the recruitment industry?

As recruitment businesses hold and use large amounts of personal data on their candidates, clients and staff, they will need to understand the GDPR and ensure their business is GDPR compliant prior to 25 May 2018.

The British Institute of Recruiter the premier professional body in Recruitment and HR ran a webinar titled “The Essential Recruiters Guide to GDPR” Hosted by Aron Myerthall the Business Development Manager of The British Institute of Recruiter and the main body of the presentation was conducted by ‘John MacKnight’ who is Chief Consultant, Products and Services @CRA Enterprise Risk Practice who is one of the foremost experts on GDPR in Recruitment.

The event was sponsored by Santander and Menzies, The British Institute of Recruiters approved partners. The webinar had over 100 attendees and the GDPR presentation was described as one of the most comprehensive GDPR presentations they had seen on GDPR and Recruitment.
