Hundreds of thousands of British viewers tune in every week to watch Jeremy Kyle in action as he hosts one of the nation’s biggest talk shows and now Jezza fans have a unique opportunity to apply to work behind-the-scenes of the ITV programme.
The bosses behind the drama-filled show are looking for employees to work as runners and researchers, ensuring everything runs smoothly on future episodes. You won’t need any TV or media experience but you will need to be based near Salford, Manchester where the job is located.
Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to work for ITV Studios Entertainment, a production label that is behind other popular daytime shows including Judge Rinder and The Kyle Files.
The official ITV website explains: “The Jeremy Kyle Show are building our talent pool of Runners and Researchers, you will have an understanding of the structure of this type of show and the ability to demonstrate the types of stories and contributors that make a strong programme.”
For research roles, the website asks: “You will have ability to cast high volumes of contributors relevant to the show, ideally with some experience as a casting researcher on a similar type of show, however this is not essential.”
The website adds: “Our teams work to targets to meet tight deadlines. To this end, you will have a persuasive telephone manner along with strong negotiation and communication skills.
“We’re looking for confident individuals so sales experience/call centre experience if no TV experience – would be advantageous.”
Runners are required to be able to work in a large team on set, while researchers will play a role in finding amazing stories.
This job advert elaborates: “You will have exceptional organisational skills including excellent attention to detail, good administrative and problem-solving skills, the ability to use your own initiative, computer literacy as well as working within a close team environment.”
