Rugby MP opens unique new training and recruitment centre

The launch of the new training and recruitment, which was opened by Rugby MP Mark Pawsey, represents a £60,000 investment.

A growing Midlands recruitment and training firm has unveiled its new offices and training centre which has delivered 15 new jobs and opportunities for people to boost their employment prospects.

eResponse Recruitment has officially opened its Rugby branch in the town at the IO Centre in Valley Drive – a 6,000 square foot facility which also houses the firm’s new Forklift Truck Training School.

The launch of the new training hub, which was opened by Rugby MP Mark Pawsey, represents a £60,000 investment from eResponse and promises to help hundreds of local jobseekers each year to gain the skills they need.

The training school, which includes high-tech lecture rooms and a dedicated recruitment team, offers a variety of nationally-recognised forklift truck qualifications and can train over 200 people per month. It will also offer other training courses to temporary workers including manual handling, health and safety and first aid.

Nicky Grogan, regional manager for eResponse in Warwickshire, said: “It’s hugely exciting to have opened the new training school and recruitment centre here in Rugby.

“With an established branch already in Coventry we know the local jobs market well and through the new training school we can offer all the tools people need if they are interested in a career as a forklift truck operator or upskilling for other related roles.

“The jobs market across Warwickshire is on the up and that means businesses need people quickly and with the right skills. The warehousing and logistics sectors are just two which are thriving and that means there is a big call for fully trained and qualified people. That’s what the new training school is here to deliver and why we’ve made a significant five-figure investment.

“We’ll be training people, helping them to forge new careers and playing a part in finding them jobs with local employers. It’s great to be offering all that under one roof here in Rugby.

“Being able to bring 15 of our own new jobs to the town is just the icing on the cake and we look forward to expanding further over the next 12 months.”

Mark Pawsey added: “I was delighted to open eResponse’s new training and recruitment centre here in Rugby which will be a great asset to our town.

“Thanks to the Government’s long-term economic plan, employment is up across the country and this new centre will enable local people to gain the skills they need to succeed in Rugby’s vibrant, and growing, workplace.”

The opening in Rugby is eResponse Recruitment’s fifth office in the Midlands with other branches in Coventry, Redditch, Worcester and Kidderminster.

The firm was established by brothers Paul and Joe Alekna in 2003 and has gone on to employ over 80 people. Last year it was placed at number 65 in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
