Chris Pinch is lead nurse in older peoples and stroke care at Whipps Cross HospitalA troubled NHS trust is turning to social media platforms in an effort to recruit nurses. Barts Health NHS Trust, which runs Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, is using Facebook to hire permanent staff in a plan to reduce its reliance on agency workers.
The hospital was placed under special measures in 2015. Last December, it was deemed “inadequate” by health watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
An open day for interested job applicants was held over the weekend with those attending being assessed, interviewed and hired on the day.
