A parking technology firm from Sunderland has secured a six-figure investment from a number of private individuals through the Enterprise Investment Scheme.
Activ8 Virtual Parking Solutions has secured its Virtual Parking Solutions’ Platform which offers management of restricted kerb space in city environments.
The technology allows local authorities to manage roadside deliveries between set times without issuing deliverers with penalty charges. The details of the deliveries are sent directly to either Civil Enforcement Officers’ handheld devices or CCTV operatives.
Activ8 is now lining up operational pilot schemes across the country in different local authority areas after successfully proving the concept with a major London Borough. Others local authorities are expected to follow in the coming months and include solutions to assist disabled motorists.
As the company expands new sales and system development jobs are being created in the North East, with a number of developers also being taken on to create new applications. The management team are already looking at how the system might be tailored for use across the world.
Further strategic non-executive directors are also expected to be made in order to provide the company with further expertise in a range of areas, including road safety, autonomous vehicles and digital communications.
The firm has also secured a partnership with a South African fleet and supply chain optimisation company to create Sizwe Solutions, which will help companies, businesses and fleet operators reduce costs through efficiency savings in the supply and delivery chain.
