An electrical goods repair hub in the North East is to create 45 jobs with the help of a £250,000 grant.
Pacifica Group are looking for new premises in Washington, after outgrown its current premises in Halifax, with the aim of the firm to become the only company in the UK to supply a full range of spares, with its only European competitor based in Germany.
The company is the only independent repair network in the country, working with a number of manufacturers, retailers, insurers and more to support their warranty provision.
Pacifica, has applied to Sunderland City Council to change the use of a building at a nearby industrial estate, with the approval being recommended. The new site will house a workshop, office space and staff facilities and be the home to the group’s engineering, repair, customer support and logistics departments.
The application states: “It is projected that the establishment of this hub will create an additional 45 full time jobs in Sunderland in the next two years and a total of approximately 115 employees working out of the site subject to this application. These will include high skilled positions in engineering, software, customer service and logistics.
“It is pertinent that the Let’s Grow Fund has awarded Pacifica Group £250,000 to assist in financing the setting up of the hub.
Pacifica Group was founded in 2003, repairing white and brown goods and gas heating systems, and servicing major brands.
