Up to 250 new jobs are expected to be created by north-east builder Stewart Milne Group to support growth in its homes and timber systems divisions in the year ahead.
The new jobs comes after the company added 160 jobs in 2014 and said the increase would bolster division in both Scotland and north-west England, as well at its timber systems facility in Oxfordshire.
The firm also added it was forging new relationships with the supply chain and subcontractor community to support in-house teams.
Stewart Milne currently employs more than 2,000 subcontractors across the UK for its operations.
The group cited a pipeline of new housing developments and growing demand for its timber systems as key drivers behind its recruitment drive, which will see the group’s current workforce grow by more than 30%.
Chief executive of Stewart Milne, Glenn Allison said: “This is an enormously exciting time to be working in the construction sector as we bring premium new homes projects forward to meet market demand and continue to grow our timber systems business.”
