Monster (NYSE: MWW) and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today announced a renewed alliance to offer local recruitment content, career services and talent management solutions as pioneered by Monster through the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Recruitment Team and JSOnline.com.
“Our recent merger with the former E.W. Scripps newspapers reintroduced us to the power of the Monster brand,” said Dani Longoria, VP of Advertising, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and National Media Director, Journal Media Group. “Those publications have consistently led our industry by providing innovative recruitment solutions and dependable growth as they effectively connected job seekers with the right positions. Once we saw the leadership that our new partner papers enjoyed in the recruitment space within their respective markets – we were convinced we should bring Monster back to Milwaukee.”

Monster Worldwide and the former Journal Sentinel Inc. originally engaged in a strategic agreement in 2007, the contract expired after five years when the former entity developed and launched standalone, homegrown solutions for recruitment products. After EW Scripps Media merged with Journal Communications in 2014 to create the Journal Media Group, (NYSE: JMG) which manages Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quickly reconnected the successful solutions provided by Monster that were already at work within JMG’s newspaper divisions.
“Milwaukee Journal Sentinel readers will again experience the capabilities of Monster and reaching audiences where they already are,” said Mark Charnock, Senior Vice President of Media, Agency and Newspaper at Monster. “By providing a robust recruitment product portfolio to employers in the Milwaukee market, including match solutions, social recruitment and sourcing solutions, our combined presence in the market will mean an unparalleled reach in the market through sources they already work with and trust.”
As one of the most visited sites on the web, Monster continues to be the best place to find Milwaukee’s top talent, with an estimated reach of over half the local market between Monster and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel brands. Additionally, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel readership is over 769,000 weekly and over 270,000 unique views weekly, making the deal for both brands more local and beneficial.
“Once again, we are thrilled to align with The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to help job seekers, recruiters, and talent managers gain the most advanced solutions in the market,” said Chris Johnson, Vice President & General Manager of Newspaper Partnerships at Monster. “Our relationships with local media outlets, such as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, means more talent, more reach and more solutions for all markets as pioneered by Monster for over 20 years, providing a wide arsenal of products and services uniquely designed to help overcome recruiting obstacles for businesses of every size.”
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel customers were notified earlier this summer about the restored relationship, emphasizing new offerings, powerful features and continued dedication for the best and strongest job opportunities. The deal for Monster to return as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel exclusive local recruitment content and service provider went into effect on July 1, 2015 with various site changes expected throughout the remainder of the year helping deliver a host of award-winning tools.
