Every element of the workplace is influenced by digital innovation, with human resources advancement now being targeted by many tech startups. To find the next great tech company advancing HR, a competition has been held by Human Resource Executive Magazine over the past few months. Eight innovative companies were chosen out of 150 applications and each had to showcase its solutions at the annual HR Tech Conference in Chicago on 4th October.
All the nominees chosen had a solution that aimed to reduce some of the many challenges and frustrations faced by HR personnel today. Having worked with an expert team of coaches, each company had to showcase its products/services to an audience comprising thought leaders, vendors and practitioners within the HR tech industry. Each member of the audience was then given the chance to vote for their favourite, rather like a talent contest.
The nominees featured at the event included:
Click Boarding – This cloud solution aims to streamline the hiring of candidates and make the process a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Through the platform, HR can manage all the required forms, share tasks with colleagues and manage checklists.
Clinch – This integrated software solution unites a company’s recruiter, content, careers site and candidate in one place, combining sourcing tools, employer branding and recruitment marketing in one platform. It features email and social media integration, a landing page builder, a career site, analytics and more.
HighGround – This cloud-based program helps companies to build a highly-engaged culture within their workplace. It does this by offering real-time recognition, ongoing employee development and continuous feedback, which allows companies to coach employees and develop meaningful reviews through effective feedback from their employees.
This year’s winner, however, was LifeWorks, which clinched the title 2016’s Next Great HR Tech Company. LifeWorks, which serves over 15 million people around the world, is a wellbeing and engagement company. The platform engages employees by providing an assistance programme, social communications, wellbeing, perks solutions and recognition.
Jamie True, founder and CEO of LifeWorks, said the company was immensely proud and felt that its strategy of delivering engagement and wellbeing and making sure employees were the centrepiece of a company had been validated by the award.
True also commented that changes within the workplace are happening faster than ever, which is why creating an environment that is healthy and happy for employees is crucial to the success of any business in this day and age. Making sure staff feel valued is something business leaders need to prioritise to make sure their employees are more productive and less stressed.
The evolution of the workplace continues at accelerating speeds due to the advancement of technological capabilities. Technical entrepreneurs within this space are constantly looking for ways in which they can help drive performance for business leaders, which is why the advancement of HR technology will continue to evolve, changing the way management has typically operated and creating questions as to how we should move forward.
