20,000 Christmas jobs on offer at M&S for the 2018 Festive Season

Some roles have already been filled but many more are still up for grabs

M&S dub their temporary Xmas staff as ‘Moment Makers’ and hundreds of opportunities are on offer on high streets all over the United Kingdom before the end of December and into the New Year.

The available roles are initially seasonal positions, 2,000 people who joined M&S in the run up to Christmas 2017 went on into a permanent role with the retail chain after this New Year.

Some of the roles on offer at M&S this Christmas include:

  • Bakery Customer Assistants
  • Beauty Customer Assistants
  • Café Customer Assistants
  • Chefs
  • Deli Counter Assistants
  • Salesfloor Customer Assistants
  • Store Operations Customer Assistants
  • Visual Stylists
  • Warehouse Operatives

Regarding the festive recruitment drive,  Operations & Property Director for Marks & Spencer, Sacha Berendji, said: “Customers come to us at Christmas for trusted quality and extra special service, whether they’re collecting the turkey they ordered online, purchasing Christmas Eve PJs for the kids or buying a new dress for the office party.”

“We want to offer these customers the very best experience. That’s why we’re recruiting 20,000 new team members. Every year we value the additional colleagues we recruit and it’s great a number stay with us.”

“For those interested in applying, retail experience is helpful, but what we’re really after are colleagues who are ready to be part of a hard-working team and help make every moment special for our customers,” added Mr Berendji.

Commenting on those positions, the Head of Region for Scotland West at Marks & Spencer, David Bates, said: “Making every moment special for our customers in Glasgow is our mission and it’s never more important than at Christmas time.”

Whilst retail experience is helpful, what we’re really after are colleagues who are ready to roll their sleeves up and be part of a hard-working team; ‘moment makers’ for our customers,” added Mr Bates.
