The UK’s domestic counter-intelligence and security agency (aka MI5) is headquartered at Thames Bank in Central London but they recruit for staff nationwide. MI5 specialises in ‘Keeping Our Country Safe’ as per their motto and it specialises in exactly that, which it has done for over a century.
Although the movies hype it up, the reality is not as glamourous as the life of James Bond.
“The men and women of MI5 are ordinary people, who do extraordinary things,” the MI5 website reads.
“They have a very strong ethos of public service, but yet their work often goes unnoticed in the public domain.
“They are intensely committed to keeping the country safe, and they are tirelessly professional and ethical in the way they conduct their work.”
Here are some of the current positions both MI5 and MI6 have advertised online.
