A Welsh pub is taking an unusual approach to recruitment by asking potential applicants to send in a talent video.
The new pub, The CookHouse, in Prestatyn has allowed potential staff to send in 10 second videos of their ‘most awesome talent’ via Social Media, following completion of renovation works ahead of launching.
For those people who are selected, they will then be invited to a stage of live auditions in front of a panel of judges, to be held at the pub. The firm believes the plans will help them to find fun and vibrant staff.
The pub is hoping to create 30 new jobs, ranging from bar staff to chefs, with both full and part time positions.
The group operations director for the CookHouse chain, Kenny Watson, commented: “The business is brand new and we want to target the best people in the business, ones who already have jobs and persuade them to come and work for us. It’s the people who make a business and we always want the best.”
Karen Penkethmen, manager of the CookHouse, added: “Our business is all about how we make our customers feel when they dine with us. The service has to match to the great food we are about to serve, and to do this we need to hire the best talent Prestatyn has to offer.”
