Beamery raises $2m to connect companies with top talent

Beamery’s current client portfolio comprises employers such as Instacart, Facebook, VMWare and Criteo

Previously operating under the name Seed Jobs, London-based startup Beamery has recently raised $2m (£1.45m) in seed funding. The money comes from human resources technology firm Grupa Pracuj and Edenred Capital Partners.

Beamery makes software to enable recruiters and employers to recognise potential employees and establish connections before they have even applied for a job. This helps recruiters and employers to cultivate meaningful relationships with individuals, making the hiring process much smoother.

Beamery’s current client portfolio comprises employers such as Instacart, Facebook, VMWare and Criteo, which are presently at the forefront of the battle for top technology talent. Beamery is not simply focusing on technology, however, with many clients running both small and large companies in areas such as hospitality, retail and the financial services industry.

Sultan Murad Saidov, Michael Paterson and Abakar Saidov jointly founded Beamery in 2014. The company is a graduate of the AngelPad enterprise tech accelerator programme, which is the top accelerator programme in the United States.

Based in San Francisco and New York City, AngelPad has successfully launched over 100 companies in five years. Throughout the programme, everything from identifying target markets to helping with fundraising preparation is covered by business and industry professionals.

Beamery utilises algorithms to identify which potential employee is most attracted to a particular employer and how their skills would be most beneficial, explains Abakar Saidov, the CEO of Beamery.

The technology does this by assessing and examining data from various sources, including social media and email, which gives employers and recruiters a comprehensive profile of each candidate.

Saidov explains that this detailed information gives companies important knowledge that allows them to make more informed recruiting choices. Marketing and sales teams have employed relationship management software for some time; however, Beamery’s system is more about CRM.

Tools that post job advertisements, organise the applications that come in and test the aptitude of potential employees are plentiful; however, Beamery believes that the top candidates are no longer applying for jobs in the traditional way. This means that when companies wait for potential employees to come to them, they are actually missing out on the very best talent.

As Beamery provides a comprehensive profile of a prospective employee, a company is then able to gradually reach out to a candidate, bringing them closer before appointing them to a role. This will give both parties an inherent understanding of each other and ensure the candidate is placed in a suitable role within the company.

Planning to use the $2m to fund increased product growth, Beamery will be expanding geographically in the future, particularly in the United States.
