The Stockport-based specialist recruiter for general practices, hospitals, prisons and other medical services was awarded sole supplier status with four major clients and won a two-year contract on the National Clinical NHS Framework. They supply professionals to hospitals in all medical clinical disciplines and place the business in a strong position to tender for further NHS contracts.
Consequently, turnover at the business founded in 2009 and named Healthcare Company of The Year at the Federation of Small Business Awards, is forecast to rise from £3.28m to £4m in 2017.
To accommodate its expanding workload and as part of its overall growth strategy, Madison Medical doubled its workforce, appointing a recruitment consultant, a finance manager and a quality manager, Vicki Lord.
With the appointment of Vicki, the management team began to develop new corporate procedures and systems with a focus on management of performance and employee development. Furthermore, they have also begun developing the firm’s online presence and secured the ISO 9001 quality management certificate last year. In order to demonstrate their on-going commitment to employee development and an excellent level of people management, the firm is now working towards achieving Investors in People (IIP) accreditation.
These successes and the implementation of these initiatives came after Vicki Lord enlisted the help of the Hub.
Hub adviser Michael Hayes supported Madison Medical in its growth planning, developing a new mission, vision and values for the business.
To help improve the overall skills and knowledge of Madison Medical’s employees, the management team also attended a diverse range of Hub masterclasses. These ranged from classes on tendering and commercial law on the corporate side, to more marketing-focused workshops on social media and digital marketing.
